Cape Mountain Zebra, or Equus zebra zebra

I took this photo of a Cape Mountain Zebra in the De Hoop Nature Reserve, South Africa. It is posing very nicely (I tip very good). Shots of animals just posing (no action) are not very popular, but any thorough photographer should still have them on file...
This Zebra only occurs in the south of South Africa. Less than 750 animals still exist in the wild. These are well protected, but such low numbers still mean there is a great extinction risk.
De Hoop Nature Reserve in South Africa is not one of the most visited reserves. However, it is well known for its Whale Trail hike where Southern Right Whales can be seen almost constantly while hiking. It is also a good place to see antelope such as Eland and Bontebok. The birdlife is spectacular in that part of the country.
