Elephant at Sunset, or
Loxodonta africana
This photograph of an Elephant at Sunset was taken near Savuti in the Chobe National Park of Botswana. These majestic beasts are extremely plentiful in the Chobe. You get to spend some quality time with them, and there are plenty of opportunity for high-quality photography.
Our visit to Chobe National Park in June 2005 was a magical experience, as visits to this paradise tend to be. It is very high on my list of recommended places to visit on an Africa Safari. This park is best visited on a self-drive safari as you then have the freedom to roam where you want to. This can be particularly handy for the photographer who needs good light for photography and would want to spend time observing animals.
