Landscape Picture 7

This landscape picture of moring mist over the Kavango River in Namibia was taken just after sunrise one morning. Our tent was less that ten metres from where I stood... We were camping at Ngepi Camp in the Kaprivi Strip.
I really enjoyed our stay there, but wish the management would operate their bar system a bit more visitor friendly... The prices are insane and you are forced to run a tab. This can cause confusion at the end of your stay when you need to settle your account.
This river feeds the legendary Okavango Delta. Just after it enters Botswana its name changes to the Okavango River. It carries its amazing amount of water from Angola, just to spill everything on dry desert sand in Botswana... If it was not for that, we would not have the incredible Okavango Delta. It is believed that much of southern Africa's underground water sources are fed from this spillage.
The Kaprivi Strip does not really offer the nature photographer much. However, the Mahango Game Reserve is a good place to visit if you are after Sable or Roan antelope. The big action is just south of the Kaprivi strip in Northern Botswana. Here you have the Okavango Delta, Moremi Game Reserve and Chobe National Park. Enough said.
