Landscape Picture 1
I took this landscape picture from a speed boat on the Okavango Delta late one afternoon. It shows one of the channels in the Okavango Delta when it is in full flow. The delta is one of the highlights of African nature and comes highly recommended for photographer, bird watcher or fisherman alike. Northern Botswana is one of those places where it is still truly wild and the impact of man on nature is not seen. My favourite nature photography destination is the Chobe National Park. The Moremi Game Reserve also comes highly recommended. It is just getting more and more important that the Department of Wildlife and National Parks start doing something about the bursting elephant population... What a controversial topic! Visitors to these areas have one of two options. The first is an expensive luxury safari, staying at one of the resorts in these conservancies. The second option is a more affordable completely self-sufficient camping safari. The second is a bit more of an adventure, but you have to know what you are doing and it is advisable to have more than one vehicle (four-wheel-drive obviously) in your group.
