Lion Cub Picture 1

Lion Cub

I took this Lion Cub Picture on the Chobe River Floodplain, in the Chobe National Park of Botswana. It was the right time of the day for photography, as you can see in the golden shine of this picture. We actually came across the two females and their cubs at noon, but they were resting close to a buffalo kill and we knew they were not going anywhere before sunset. Guess were I went at sunset?

The picture is not 100% sharp, but that is what you get when you handhold your lens. Nowadays I never handhold and I use a sharper prime lens. This lens is luckily too big for handholding...

Our visit to Chobe National Park in June 2005 was a magical experience, as visits to this paradise tend to be. It is very high on my list of recommended places to visit on an Africa Safari. I just do hope that the Department of Wildlife and National Parks start doing something about the bursting Elephant population, as the game density of other animals and the general quality of the bush is suffering as a result of high Elephant numbers.

If you also want opportunities to take pictures like this one, why don't you visit my Africa Safaris section...
