A Collection of my Favourite
Nature Pictures on Show

Welcome to my Nature Pictures, a library of some of my favourite pictures. I do not sell my pictures from this website. That is not why they are showcased here.

If you do want to buy pictures, I can highly recommend:

Photographers Direct - stock photography images

That is where I market my own pictures.

Inspiration! That is what I would like to achieve with these photos. The whole aim of this website is to assist my fellow nature photographers as far as I can, and what better way to get them motivated for award winning nature photography than a selection of my own work on display! I hope my work is good enough to achieve that aim ;-)

I further want to inspire fellow nature photographers and other visitors to follow their dreams, to conserve nature, to promote Africa and to promote nature photography as a pastime!

You can click on each thumbnail to view a large copy the picture (450x300 pixels resolution). I give a brief description of each photograph below the large version, including where it was taken. The pictures are subdivided into the following categories:

  • Lion Pictures

  • Pictures of Mammals

  • Bird Pictures

  • Reptile Pictures

  • Landscape Pictures

  • Adding pictures to this library is an ongoing process. I have regular trips planned to some of Africa’s top wildlife destinations and as more nature pictures become available I will post them here. Especially the more inspirational ones...

Feel free to bookmark the page and return often to see whether any new nature pictures have been added.

As I am a digital nature photographer, some of my nature pictures have been retouched in Photoshop. This is an essential practice for digital photographers taking photographs in the Adobe RGB colour space, as these photographs look pretty dull if not optimised. Consider this in the same light as a film photographer using a specific slide film with very high colour quality, to improve his results.

My advice to my fellow nature photographers will always be to get the best exposure posible in a RAW format, to reduce the digital image manipulation necessary. Digital image editing should not be used to alter photographs or to try and "save" photographs suffering from bad technique, but merely to get a good photograph up to professional standards.

Please note that my pictures are not public domain, and are all copyright protected.
