Africa's reptiles, bar the crocodiles and mambas, are probably the least well known. You do not get to see the snakes often and the larger game tends to steal the show. Especially the 'Big 5'. No-one visits Africa and hopes to see a Tent Tortoise.

Africa's best known reptile is the Nile Crocodile. This creature is older than most mountains, weighs an astonishing 600kg and is amazingly active on its short legs. All other pictures I currently have here are of snakes. I hope to add some Monitor Lizzard pictures shortly.

Most of the photographs shown here was taken in Southern Africa, as this is where I travel the most. Hopefully I will one day be able to show off pictures from all parts of Africa.
