Young Lion, or Panthera Leo

I took this shot of a Young Lion next to the Chobe River, in the Chobe National Park of Botswana. It is staring at some vultures trying to get to the lions' buffalo kill. We actually came across the two females and their cubs at noon, but they were resting close to the kill and we knew they were not going anywhere before sunset. Guess were I went at sunset?
Our visit to Chobe National Park in June 2005 was a magical experience, as visits to this paradise tend to be. It is very high on my list of recommended places to visit on an Africa Safari. I just do hope that the Department of Wildlife and National Parks start doing something about the bursting Elephant population, as the game density of other animals and the general quality of the bush is suffering as a result of high Elephant numbers.
